About Aquavic

To enter a typical pool shop is to enter the world of "the chemical solution". The variety and quantity of chemicals offered to solve the problems associated with swimming pools and spas really has to be seen to be believed - particularly so if it happens to be near the start of the swimming season. The perception is that for any given problem, there is a liquid, tablet, powder or gel to correct it, and to present with a sample of your pool's water is often to leave with a quantity of each - and be many dollars poorer for the experience.

Although originally involved in the control of Legionaire's disease in large commercial cooling towers, by default, we became aware of an ever-increasing groundswell of unrest against the use of chlorine specifically, and other complex solutions for water quality generally.

It was this groundswell, coupled with a fortuitous business opportunity, that saw the emergence of Aquavic and later, that of our parent company, Angus Horwood & Associates Pty. Ltd. We began trading officially on 1 July 2000.

Although very much aware of the effectiveness of ionisation, we were also very much aware of the magnitude of the task confronting us.The task confronting us was awesome to say the least. Promoting a product which is virtually unknown by the public and disliked by those with a vested interest in the chemical industry is not a task for the timid or faint hearted!
